The top four at each weight class qualified for AAU State in Des Moines, Iowa. The qualifier for AAU was districts that took place three weeks ago at Iowa Western Community College. “Thirteen wrestlers from Glenwood took Wells Fargo Arena by storm.” said Shawn Koehler.

 

Glenwood’s Abby McIntyre was crowned the 2018 124 lbs. AAU State Champion over the weekend. This was the state of Iowa’s first high school girls championships. Congratulations Abby, a great accomplishment and you will forever be in the record books as one of the first in the state of Iowa. McIntyre had five wins and each win was by fall.

 

“The cheers were loud” said Koehler when they announced the first ever Iowa Girls High School Championships.
