Glenwood Boys Track
Mustang Relays - First Place 174
A.L. Relays - Third Place 83
Nate Kennedy is off to a fast start on the track. Kennedy currently leads Iowa Class 3A in the 100m (10.86), 200m (21.87), and the 400m (49.49). Nate’s times in the 100 and 200 are now records at Glenwood High School. If Nate can keep up his pace look for him to have a state track meet like the great Adam Haluska. For those of you who don’t know Adam Haluska won the 100, 200, 400, and Long Jump at the state meet his senior year for Carroll, Iowa. For Kennedy to pull off a Haulska State Track Meet weekend would be tough but I have confidence in the state champ.
Glenwood Girls Soccer 3-0
Glenwood 1-0 over Abraham Lincoln
Glenwood 3-1 over Denison
Glenwood 6-0 over Harlan
The girls soccer team has been outstanding as well. The Rams are currently ranked 14th in the state. Freshman Avery Blasdel and Mia McCorkle each have scored three goals this season. Blasdel leads the conference in assists with three.
Glenwood Girls Tennis 4-0
Glenwood 9 S.C. West 0
Glenwood 9 S. C. East 0
Glenwood 9 Atlantic 0
Glenwood 8 Clarinda 1
Shenandoah Tournament - First Place
Coach Ohm has her tennis program undefeated after four matches and one tournament. Saturday the seventh ranked girls won the Shenandoah Tournament and brought home some more hardware for the trophy case. Brooklyn Taylor, Erin Stanley, Ruby Crow, Sierra Stouder and Cameron Rounds are all 4-0 in their singles matches. This team is stacked! Trust me, a team that can get five wins off this squad has a good shot to go to the final four. Keep an eye on these Rams as I have them booked for a trip to Des Moines later this season.
Glenwood Boys Golf
Shenandoah Tournament - First Place 308
LC Boys Golf Invite - First Place 306
Coach Joyner also has a deep team with the boys golf program. The Rams currently average 307 for their 18 hole average (top four players). Early on the boys have picked up two big wins at tournaments and the Rams will only get better as the weather/season goes on. What I like most about this Rams team is anyone of the top six can post a great score. Ryan Leath is their top player as of now. Leath won the Hawkeye Ten his freshman year and is off to a good start during his junior campaign averaging a 74 per 18 holes.
Glenwood Girls Track
LC Girls Invite - First Place 134.5
Ram Relays - First Place 135
Glenwood girls track has been dominating early on this spring season. The girls have won two big meets and the teams depth should give them many more meet wins this season. Freshman Elle Scarborough has been impressive early on along with Freshman Emma Hughes.
Glenwood Girls Golf 1-0 (duals)
Glenwood 215 Atlantic 215 (Rams won on tiebreak)
Shenandoah Tournament - finished 8th with 435
Girls golf has probably the biggest win of the spring season so far. Their win over Atlantic at home was the FIRST time in Glenwood’s Girls Golf program. Anytime a team does anything for the first time is pretty impressive and Coach Jacobus has her girls heading in the right direction.
Glenwood Boys Soccer 2-2
Glenwood 10 Missouri Valley 0
Glenwood 2 Thomas Jefferson 1
Glenwood 0-6 Lewis Central
Glenwood 0-4 Harlan
The boys soccer team is 2-2 on the season. Glenwood’s losses have been against the top teams in the Hawkeye Ten and both Lewis Central and Harlan are still undefeated. Look for these Rams to only get better as the season progresses.
Glenwood Boys Tennis 3-0
Glenwood 9 S.W. Valley 0
Glenwood 5 Atlantic 4
Glenwood 9 Clarinda 0
The Rams are 3-0 are the season and have won 23 of their 27 total games played. What Glenwood is doing doing their regular season duals right now is unheard of. The Rams have not lost a regular season dual since 2015 and have a 24 dual win streak on the line tonight. Glenwood is ranked #6 in state and will look to move up in the polls after four matches this week.
Glenwood Rugby Club Undefeated
