Baseball and Softball Pick Up Conference Road Wins After Sweeping Shenandoah

Glenwood 14 Shenandoah 4

Once again the Glenwood Softball Team won in only five innings of play. The Rams defeated Shenandoah 14-4 on the road. Glenwood had balanced scoring throughout each inning (4 in the first, three in the second, two in the third, three in the fourth and two in the fifth). Coach Stanton said “the Rams had many contributors in their 14-4 victory.” The Rams will be back on the road tonight as they travel to Sioux City East. Glenwood now has a record of 9-2 on the season.

Glenwood 19 Shenandoah 5

A hot start helped the Rams defeat the Mustangs 19-5 in five innings. Glenwood started off the first three innings by scoring seven in the first, six in the second and six in the third. The Rams scored their nineteen runs off nine hits and sixteen RBIs. Sophomore Michael Radford was awarded the win after pitching 2 ⅓ innings. Radford gave up four runs on four hits. Senior AJ Slaughter drove in four runs for Glenwood while scoring two himself. Mavrick Decker, Ethan Fisher and Cole Loeffelbein each scored three runs a piece. Glenwood is now 6-3 on the season and will host Sioux City Bishop Heelan tonight.
