Baseball Picks Up Two Wins on Saturday, Softball Finished Second at Tournament

Last week the Rams baseball team picked up three wins out of their six game week. Glenwood defeated Creston 18-9, ADM 10-7 and LeMars 6-4. The Rams were defeated by Harlan 12-11 and 11-1 along with a 15-0 loss against St. Albert.

 

The good news for the Rams is their bats are waking up. Junior third basemen Kaden Wray has been leading the charge. Wray has twenty hits on the season and is currently leading the team with a .400 batting average (.580 SLG). Wray and Junior Cade Van Ness each recorded a homerun against ADM on Saturday. Eli Bales recorded the win for Glenwood on the mound against ADM. The Rams scored ten runs off eleven hits against the Tigers.

 

Glenwood scored six runs on five hits against LeMars on Saturday. Josh Ruth, Ethan Fisher, Eli Bales, Kaden Way and Colton Schutte each recorded a hit for the Rams. Fisher scored two runs for the Rams while Bales, Wray, Holiday and Schutte scored one run a piece. Junior Michael Radford pitched a complete game and was given the win.

 

Glenwood is now 5-11-1 on the season. This week the Rams will play five games.

The Rams are now 14-4 on the season after a busy week of softball. Glenwood started off the week with a win over Creston 8-7. Glenwood and Harlan split on Thursday. Harlan won the first game 10-1 while Glenwood took the second game 5-4 over the Cyclones.

 

On Saturday the Rams played in a tournament at the Gale Wickersham Athletic Complex. Glenwood defeated Central Decatur 10-1 in game number one. The Rams would then go on and defeat ADM 10-7 in game number two. Earlham and Glenwood would face off in the championship game. Earlham edged out the Rams 6-5 to finish first.

 

The Rams are now fourth in the conference at 8-3. Atlantic is currently in first place with a record of 10-1 in the conference. Atlantic will come to town on Thursday for a double header. Glenwood has five games this week with a tournament Friday/Saturday in Ames, Iowa.
