Tonight the girls and boys basketball teams are traveling to Atlantic for a double header against the Trojans of Atlantic. Both the girls and boys defeated Atlantic back on December 12th in Glenwood.

The girls won 56-40 back on December 12th. Glenwood was without Elle Scarborough that game due to injury. Sophomore Joslyn Lewis and Senior Nikki Schuppan each had thirteen points to lead the way for Glenwood. Junior Brielle Smith recorded a double/double back when these teams had their first meeting. Smith scored eleven points and grabbed eleven rebounds on the night. Glenwood has gone 1-3 since defeating Atlantic while the Trojans have gone 0-5. I look for the Rams to get the road win tonight at Atlantic.

Prediction - Glenwood 65 Atlantic 45

The undefeated Rams head to Atlantic with a record of 9-0. The Trojans have won four of their last five games with their only loss coming at Kuemper by two points. Atlantic is catching fire as of late with their three straight victories. Atlantic has recently defeated St. Albert 62-45, Harlan 66-52 and Denison 66-46. The Trojans are on a four game home stretch and will want to take down the #2 ranked Rams at home. Glenwood dominated Atlantic back when these teams played on December 12th. The Rams won 64-31 with 45 of the 64 points coming from Mohr, Blum and Stanislav.  Glenwood’s defense shut down Atlantic last time by holding the Trojans to only one double digit scoring quarter (16 points in the second quarter). Atlantic shot 23% from the floor against the Rams and only knocked down three of their 21 three point attempts. I see this game being closer than the one back on December 12th. Atlantic’s gym will be loud and they would love to give the Rams their first loss on the season. I don’t see that happening. I’ll take the Rams tonight 65-58 over the Trojans.

Prediction - Glenwood 65 Atlantic 58

Three news media outlets are already covering the game so I’m sitting this one out due to available space in the gym. YOU can however WATCH the gameat http://www.kjan.com/?cat=29. Former Ram Chris Parks runs the website and will be on the call for tonight's game if you are not able to travel up to Atlantic.

GO RAMS!
