Ram Volleyball Off to Good Start, 6-3 Record in Opening Week

  Glenwood Volleyball is off to solid start to the season. After hosting a quad meet and competing in the Harlan tournament, the Rams finished the first week of their 2018 campaign with a 6-3 overall record.

  Thursday night, Glenwood hosted a quad with Tri-Center, CB Thomas Jefferson and MVAOCOU. The Rams defeated every team in two sets, opening up the year 3-0.

  Saturday at the Harlan tournament, the Lady Rams went 3-3 on the day, finishing third in the gold bracket. Glenwood started the morning by defeating Logan Magnolia 21-13 and 21-9. The Rams dropped their next two games to 4A teams Indianola and CB Abraham Lincoln. Glenwood finished on a high note, however, winning two of its last three games over East Sac County and Hawkeye Ten Conference foe Harlan.

  Junior Joslyn Lewis currently leads the Rams in kills, racking up 40 in the first nine games of the season. Sophomore Elle Scarborough is close behind Lewis with 35, while senior Brielle Smith has 28.

  Senior Cera Gray has had quite the start to her final season in a Glenwood uniform. The Nebraska-Wesleyan commit leads Glenwood with 80 assists to go along with 33 digs and 10 aces. Junior Jaeda Wilson leads the Lady Rams in digs with 67.

  Glenwood will continue its season with a home game against Atlantic Thursday night.
