The boys took on the Atlantic Trojans last night in their home opener. Glenwood was looking for revenge after losing to the Trojans a year ago in the substate final. The Rams won 5-4 over the Trojans in what was a close match between two tough tennis squads. Joel Ibanez and Adam Konfrst showed why they are one of the best 1-2 combo in the state. Ibanez and Konfrst each one 10-4 in their singles over Grant Podhajsky and Cooper McDermott. Josh Ruth won 10-5 in his singles match at number five. Sophomore Calvin Little picked up Glenwood’s fourth singles win in a close 10-8 win over the Trojans. The doubles match between Ibanez/Konfrst and Podhajsky/McDermott was a good test for Joel and Adam. Podhajsky and McDermott have been back to back state doubles qualifiers heading into Tuesday's match. Ibanez an Konfrst looked tough as they defeated Podhajsky and McDermott 10-3. Glenwood will now take on Clarinda tomorrow and Denison on Friday. This win gives the Rams 24 straight regular season dual wins. Their last regular season loss was back in 2015. Keep it up boys.
