Anthony Sherry places 2nd @ State!

Anthony Sherry finished his best season 40-6 and placed 2nd at state losing to 2 time state champ Max Lyon.  Lyon , a Purdue recruit, finishes the season 49-0.  Sherry has already had a terrific career and don't bet against him next year in his pursuit of a state championship.  Anthony has faced some of the toughest Iowa wrestlers in the past 2 years including Chase Shiltz who just won his 3rd state championship tonight and Marcus Coleman of Ames who also won for the 3rd straight time tonight.  Congratulations Anthony on a fantastic season and we look forward to watching you next year on yo

Trevor Anderson was defeated by defending State Champion Grant Stotts of West Des Moines Valley 7-0.

Next up for Anderson in the consolation bracket will be Josh Gerke of Cedar Rapids Xavier 41-4 Senior

Three Glenwood wrestlers competed this morning in the quarterfinals and all three won! Anderson, Sherry, and Haggstrom all advanced to this afternoon's semifinals of the state wrestling tournament.

Warriors Defeat Lady Rams at Districts

Last night Glenwood traveled to Sergeant Bluff to take on the Sergeant Bluff Luton Warriors. The Warriors defeated Glenwood 68-37. Sgt. Bluff got out to an early lead and led Glenwood at halftime 57-29. The Warriors advanced to the second round and will take on Lewis Central.

Glenwood finished the season 1-9 in the conference and 3-19 overall.

Congratulations Glenwood on a season where there was improvement through out the entire season. You girls came a long way this year and will only get better! Keep it up, GO RAMS!

Glenwood Wrestling Advances Three to the Quarterfinals

Glenwood Wrestling went 3-5 overall in round one at the Iowa State Wrestling Tournament. The Rams picked up wins from Trevor Anderson at 145, Anthony Sherry at 182, and Zach Haggstrom at 220. Below are the results from the first round and match-ups for the next rounds.

Lady Rams vs. Sergeant Bluff-Luton Preview

Tonight the girls basketball team is traveling to Sergeant Bluff-Luton to take on the Warriors. SB-L is 13-8 on the season. The Warriors shoot 39.2% from the floor and 29.6% from three point range. 5'8" Sophomore Abby Wisecup is the leading scorer for the Warriors with 14.8 points per game. Wisecup is also second in rebounds with 132 total. 6' Junior Kylee Christensen is also a great player for the Warriors. Christensen averages 10 points per game and leads the team in rebounds with 181 total. Christensen leads the team in blocks while Wisecup leads the team in steals with 76.

Defense Helps Glenwood Take Down the Titans

Last night Glenwood defeated Lewis Central 73-60. The Rams played a great first half on the defensive side of the ball and held the Titans to only 24 points at halftime. Glenwood's huge 23 point quarter gave the Rams a 32-24 lead at halftime. Nate Mohr made seven three pointers on his way to scoring a game high 34 points for Glenwood. Mohr's 34 points gave him 1,008 career points to make his Glenwood Boys All-Time leading scorer. Foul trouble for Chad Moran helped the Rams complete the upset over the Titans.
