Girls Tennis Sweep First Day of Team Regionals

Glenwood girls tennis defeats St. Albert and Denison on Saturday in the first two rounds of Team Regionals. The first match of the day was dominated by the lady Rams. The girls defeated St. Albert 5-1. The girls picked up singles wins vs. Osterloh, Osterloh, Crow, Taylor, and Stouder. The Rams clinched the match in doubles with the team of Abby OSterloh and Sam Umberger defeating Pavlik/Carlson 7-6, 7-5. Coach Ohm said "both Crow and E. Osterloh gave the team solid wins.

Ram Golf Advances to Districts for First Time in 10 Years

Glenwood boys golf finished second at sectionals last Thursday to qualify to the district tournament for the first time in ten years. The boys shot 319 as a team with scores of 76, 79, 79,85.

Ram Tennis Wins Districts, Sends Four to Individual State

Last Thursday the Glenwood boys tennis team won the district title for the second year in a row. The Rams scored 21 total points to capture the district title over Creston. Glenwood's double teams of Sam Lauritsen/Alex Chekal and Aaron Bertini/Adam Konfrst earned the number one and two seeds in the doubles bracket. The number one seeds of Lauritsen/Chekal got wins over Southwest Valley, Clarinda, and Creston to advance them into the finals. The number two seeds of Bertini/Konfrst got wins vs. Shenandoah, Osceola Clarke, and Red Oak to advance them into the finals.

The official Iowa Girls and Boys State Track Meet qualifiers have been announced. The state track meet will be held from 5-19-16 through 5-21-16 at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa.

Ram Tennis Wins Conference Title

A complete team effort was the reason the boys finished first place at the Hawkeye 10 Championship. The Rams won the tournament with 24 total points. Harlan finished second place with 20 and Lewis Central finished third with 18. Senior Aaron Bertini and Sophomore Adam Konfrst were crowned H-10 Champs in the number one doubles bracket. The doubles team defeated teams from Red Oak, Atlantic, and Denison to win their title. Seniors Ethan Thompson and Sean Harper stepped up big for their team by finishing third place in the number two doubles bracket.

Yesterday Glenwood hosted boys conference golf for the Hawkeye Ten. Glenwood finished first place with a score of 296. The Rams were the only team to score under the 300s. Carroll Kuemper finished second with a score of 300. Glenwood's freshman Ryan Leath won the conference title with a score of 71. Eli Bales, Kobe Rhodes, and Colton Book all shot 75 to help the Rams win their first conference tile since 2008.

Way to go boys! Next up for the Ram golf team is districts at Atlantic! GO RAMS!

Girls tennis picked up their ninth win last night by defeating Thomas Jefferson 9-0. The girls are now 9-2 in the regular season. Congrats to Ruby Crow who finished her regular season undefeated in singles play. The girls will now enter post season.

Ram Tennis Makes History by Going 11-0 After Win vs. A.L.

Last night the 10-1 A.L. Lynx came to town for a Southwest Iowa tennis battle! Despite having undefeated Aaron Bertini gone for singles due to high jumping and long jumping at the conference tournament, the Rams won four of the six singles. Alex Chekal played great at the number two singles and won 10-4. Adam Konfrst played up a spot and won 10-5 at number three singles. Senior Sean Harper stepped up and defeated A.L's number four player 11-10 (7-4) in a tie-break. Sean played his best match of the season and picked up a HUGE win for the Rams.

Girls Tennis Picks Up 8th Win at A.L.

The girls tennis team picked up their eighth win last night by defeating A.L. 6-3. Ruby Crow won her singles match 8-3 to stay undefeated on the season. Sam Umberger had a great match by coming back from a 4-7 deficit to win 9-7! The Rams also picked up wins in singles from Sierra Stouder and Ellie Osterloh. The doubles teams of E. Osterlor/Taylor and Crow/Stouder won their matches 8-4, 8-2. The girls are now 8-2 overall and will have one match remaining vs. T.J. before conference play.

Girls Track Crowned Champs at Conference Relays Boys Finish Second

Last night Glenwood girls track finished first place at the H-10 CoEd Relays. The girls scored 146 total points to finish ahead of Creston who scored 133. The boys finished second behind Lewis Central with 132 total points. Lewis Central finished first with 139 total points.

Molly Dean broke the Hawkeye Ten record in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:04.80.
