Schraft Takes Individual Championship, Rams Compete at State Meet

Last week, the boys and girls cross country teams traveled to Fort Dodge to run in the state meet. Glenwood senior Janette Schraft was crowned individual champion in the girls 3A division, winning the race by over eight seconds and taking home her first state title. Schraft’s performance helped lift the Lady Rams to a third place finish as a team, its best in school history. Following Schraft was Lacey Jackson in 21st, Abby McIntyre 30th, Erin Schultz 56th, Lauren Becker 63rd and Aubrey McIntyre 68th.

Three Glenwood seniors, who are members of the Glenwood Rams Cross Country team traveled to Spearfish, SD on July 14, 2018 to participate in the half marathon fundraiser.  

This event is an annual fundraiser, which benefits the abused and neglected children through the Northern Hills Area CASA program.

 

This year's race had 317 registered participants.

Saturday the boys and girls cross country teams competed at the Iowa Cross Country State Championships. The championships for Class 3A were held at Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Dubuque Wahlert placed first in the girls division with 72 team points and Gilbert placed first in the boys division with 75 team points.

 

Lady Rams, Covington, Parks Headed to State After Stellar Performances in District Meet

    The Glenwood Girls’ Cross Country team is headed to the state meet after qualifying at the district meet in Atlantic Thursday night. Coming off their first Hawkeye Ten title in 22 years, the Lady Rams placed second at districts, finishing behind Ballard and edging out Denison. Junior Lacey Jackson led the Rams as she placed 12th with a time of 20:49. Seniors Kate Kaufman and Katelyn Malcom followed, placing 14th and 15th, respectively.

7th Grade

The Rams scored a fifty-nine team points at State. Mt. Vernon Lisbon, North Polk and Carlisle finished ahead of the Rams. Jack McMullen was Glenwood’s highest finisher. McMullen finished 11th in the State.

Historic Day for Glenwood Cross Country as Rams Win Both Boys and Girls Titles

What a day to be a Ram Fan! Yesterday the girls and boys cross country teams went to Clarinda and raced in the Hawkeye Ten Championships. The Rams swept the competition winning both the boys and girls divisions. The girls won their first Hawkeye Ten Championship in thirty-two years while the boys won their second straight Hawkeye Ten Title!

 

Dallas Center-Grimes Edges Out Red Hot Rams in Rainy Conditions

Saturday in a rainy event DCG defeated Glenwood 82-88 in team scores at the Atlantic High School CO-ED Meet. Glenwood’s top runner was Kate Kaufman who finished twelfth overall. Lacey Jackson and Aubrey McIntyre finished fifteenth and sixteenth overall in the raining conditions.  

 

Now that the regular season is completed it is time for the postseason! Good luck ladies. GO RAMS! The Hawkeye Ten Meet will be ran on October 12th at 4:00 PM in Clarinda.

 

11th Ranked Girls Cross Country Continues to Impress by Setting Records and Winning at Shenandoah

Lacey Jackson lead the way by placing fourth individually. Jackson was one of four Rams who finished in the top eleven. Lacey Jackson and Kate Kaufman each broke Glenwood's School Record that Aubrey McIntyre set last year. As a team the Rams scored thirty-seven points and averaged 19:47.65. Atlantic placed second while Harlan finished third. Congrats Glenwood as the Rams are now 11th in the State!
