Rams Run Strong in the Harlan Heat

Harlan hosted their annual HCSD Cross Country Meet on Saturday and the Rams finished first and second. The conditions were rare for September as temperatures were in the 90s but that didn’t stop Glenwood from competing at a high level. The girls finished in first with fifty-seven team points. Glenwood averaged 21:34.05 as a team which was four seconds faster than the second place team in Atlantic. The boys finished second with eighty-two team points and averaged a time of 18:40.95.

 

Mason Parks and the Rams Win Creston Invitational

Glenwood’s Mason Parks won the Creston Invitational last night with a time of 17:49.9 to edge out Jalen Petersen of Atlantic who finished with a time of 17:57.5. Glenwood won the overall team score with forty-five points and averaged 18:29.6 as a team. Pason Covington also ran well for the Rams finishing third with a time of 18:04.9.

Middle School Girls XC Placed 4th at Red Oak

Yesterday the middle school girls cross country team traveled to Red Oak for their meet. The Rams finished 4th overall with a team score of 91 points. Glenwood averaged 15:25.00 as a team. Congratulations girls! Riley Wiese, Ryley Nebel, Emerson Griffin and Kaitlyn Carnes all finished in the top twenty five.

Five Rams Finish Top 15 as Glenwood Girls Take LC Invite

The Rams dominated the course on Saturday as Glenwood won the Lewis Central Cross Country Invite. Glenwood finished first with 50 team points. Harlan finished second with 68 and Janette Schraft of East Mills won the individual race. Five girls finished in the top fifteen for the Rams. Aubrey McIntyre lead the way finishing 9th individually. Lackey Jackson (10th), Kate Kaufman (11th), Katelyn Malcom (12th) and Abi Schultz (13th) all finished behind Aubrey in numerical order. Lauren Becker finished 24th for the Rams.

Girls Cross Country and Parson Covington Crowned Champs at 43rd Ram XC Meet

Saturday Glenwood hosted their 43rd Glenwood Coed Cross Country Meet at the Glenwood Lake Park. The girls won the meet with 51 points finishing fourteen points ahead of Harlan and Atlantic. The Rams had five girls finish in the top twenty individually. Glenwood’s Aubrey McIntyre finished 3rd individually with a time of 20:38.65, Kate Kaufman 5th with a time of 21:05.81, Abi Schultz 12th with a time of 21:40.06, Katelyn Malcom 17th with a time of 21:54.50 and Lacey Jackson 19th with a time of 22:01.87.

 

State Cross Country Results

Saturday three Rams competed in the 2016 Iowa Cross Country State High School Meet. Lacey Jackson finished 81st and Aubrey McIntyre finished 88th for the Rams. Mason Parks finished 119th in the boys Class 3A.

Three Rams Qualify for State Cross Country

Yesterday the Ram Cross Country Teams went to Atlantic for the 2016 3A State Qualifying Meet. Mason Parks was the boys qualifier for the Rams by finishing 8th in the meet. Mason ran a 17:26.35 which qualified him onto the state tournament. The team finished 5th with a team score of 128 and a team average of 18:03.00. Aubrey McIntyre and Lacey Jackson qualified for the girls. McIntyre finished 12th and Jackson finished 14th. Aubrey McIntyre ran a 20:48.84 and Lacey Jackson ran a 21:00.08. The team also finished 5th with a team score of 120. The team averaged a time of 21:33.88.

 

Glenwood Cross Country Ranked in 3A

The Iowa Association of Track Coaches new ranking are out and the Rams are ranked in the top 15. The boys team is ranked number 13th in 3A. The Rams are the only team in the Hawkeye 10 to be ranked in the top 15. The girls team is listed as a "team to watch" in 3A by the coaches.
