Webster City Ends Glenwood's Historic Season

The day started early when the town held a send off for the Glenwood Football team Thursday. The team and hundreds of fans would then start the four hour journey to the UNI-Dome. The Rams took on Webster City in the semi-final round of the State of Iowa Football Playoffs. A low scoring defensive battle went in favor of Webster City's way. Glenwood lost 6-3 and end their season with a record of 9-3.

Ram Cheer Places 4th at State

Ram Cheer placed 4th in the Timeout Division at the Iowa State Cheer Competition in 3A/4A. The girls did a great job and showed great competition against many bigger schools. Glenwood's Stunt Division of Sami Miller, Alysa Jensen, Taylor Kuhl, Haley Palmer, and Nicole Smith finished fifth overall.

Way to go girls! Keep up the great work, GO RAMS!

Semi-Finals of Class 3A State Football Playoffs Thursday November 10th, 2016

9-2 Glenwood vs. 10-1 Webster City

Kickoff at 5:36 p.m.

Tickets will be $10.00 for the semi-final game and can be purchased at the UNI-Dome.  (You may also purchase tickets online at UNI Ticket Office.

*Gates will open one hour prior to kickoff.

Parking in or around the UNI-Dome will be $5.00.

Glenwood will be the visiting team and will sit on the west side of the bleachers.

 

 

Rams Knock Off Undefeated Carroll 30-27

The Glenwood Rams battled the Carroll Tigers all night and won the game on a 41 yard field goal by Seth Little with 15 seconds to go, 30-27.  The game was a test between the Ram running  game behind their outstanding offensive line and Carroll's big play ability.  Little, who had missed 2 extra points, was named Glenwoodsports.com player of the game as he blocked a extra point kick and then came up huge down the stretch defensively knocking down several pass attempts from his defensive back position.  Carroll scored on a 41 yard pass, a 46 yard run, a 99 yard kick off return, and a 68 yard

The Rematch Preview

Tonight the 8-2 Glenwood Rams will travel up to Carroll, Iowa and take on the 10-0 Carroll Tigers. These teams faced off in Glenwood week three and the Tigers came back to defeat the Rams 21-12. The winner of this match up will play in the UNI-Dome next Thursday night for the semi-finals of the state playoffs.

Last week the Tigers of Carroll defeated Sergeant Bluff-Luton by a score of 34-14. The Rams are coming off their big win on the road against undefeated Storm Lake by a score of 44-22.

Glenwoodsports No Shave November for the Booster Club

Hello all Ram Fans! This year I thought it would be fun at Glenwoodsports to start a little fun competition to raise money for the Glenwood Booster Club. Today I am starting a Glenwoodsports No Shave November Campaign. For the month of November let your facial hair grow from today until the end of the month. Show off your best beard or mustache for the Rams. The entry fee "donation" will be five dollars which you can drop off at our office (102 South Walnut, Glenwood Iowa 51534) anytime before November 8th . At the end of the month I will choose a winner for best beard and mustache.

Carroll vs. Glenwood Rematch Preview

After defeating Storm Lake, the Rams now face fellow District 7 opponent Carroll, Iowa. The two teams faced off in week three of the regular season with Carroll defeating Glenwood 21-12 in Glenwood. Carroll is undefeated on the season and are coming off a 34-14 win over Sergeant Bluff-Luton in round one of the playoffs.
