Glenwood Will Wrestle in STACKED CB Classic Tomorrow

Tomorrow the Council Bluffs Wrestling Classic begins at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Thirty-nine teams are in the tournament and fourteen of the teams are ranked in the top-ten of their Class/State. The wrestling begins at 1:00 pm tomorrow (Friday, December 8th).

 

I will be posting updates on twitter and our website throughout both days. Our good friends over at www.iawrestle.com have put together quite the preview.

Ram Wrestling Remains Undefeated in Duals After Defeating Harlan and St. Albert

Tuesday night Glenwood Wrestling defeated St. Albert and Harlan. The Rams defeated Harlan 43-29 and St. Albert 78-6.

Anderson, Bales and Sanders Crowned Champions at Dan Hill Invite

Saturday the Glenwood Rams traveled up to Harlan for the Dan Hill Invitational. The Rams had three wrestlers that were crowned champions at the tournament. Trevor Anderson won at 145, Isaac Bales won at 220 and Caleb Sanders won at 285. Glenwood finished second as a team with 239 points. Gretna finished first place at the invitational with 252 team points.

Anthony Sherry places 2nd @ State!

Anthony Sherry finished his best season 40-6 and placed 2nd at state losing to 2 time state champ Max Lyon.  Lyon , a Purdue recruit, finishes the season 49-0.  Sherry has already had a terrific career and don't bet against him next year in his pursuit of a state championship.  Anthony has faced some of the toughest Iowa wrestlers in the past 2 years including Chase Shiltz who just won his 3rd state championship tonight and Marcus Coleman of Ames who also won for the 3rd straight time tonight.  Congratulations Anthony on a fantastic season and we look forward to watching you next year on yo

Congrats to Glenwood Junior Anthony Sherry! Tomorrow he will wrestle to become a STATE CHAMPION!

Trevor Anderson was defeated by defending State Champion Grant Stotts of West Des Moines Valley 7-0.

Next up for Anderson in the consolation bracket will be Josh Gerke of Cedar Rapids Xavier 41-4 Senior

Tomorrow Anthony Sherry will wrestle for the 182 State Title against Max Lyon (EPWD) 48-0 Senior

Three Glenwood wrestlers competed this morning in the quarterfinals and all three won! Anderson, Sherry, and Haggstrom all advanced to this afternoon's semifinals of the state wrestling tournament.
