Game Comments: Swimming for the Lewis Central/Mills County coop swim team, Glenwood junior Samantha Stivers placed sixth in the 100 Butterfly to earn a trip to the podium at the state competition in Marshalltown on Nov 4th. Stivers swam a personal best time of 100.92 and took 3 seconds off her regional qualifying time. "it was a big swim for Stivers, a very good performance" said LC Coach Bruce Schomburg. Also scoring points for the Titans was Glenwood junior Marissa Sudweeks. Sudweeks placed ninth in the 500 Freestyle, swimming a personal best time of 522.11 and taking over 7 seconds off her seed time from regionals. She also placed 16th in the 200 free with a time of 202.19. The 200 Free relay team of Stivers, Hannah Sebek, Kelsey Schomburg and Shanna Delfs shaved a second off their seed time and placed 10th (143.58), while the 400 Free relay team of Stivers, Sudweeks, Schomburg and Sebek placed 11th after taking 6 seconds off their regional time (346.29). Glenwood Junior Brooke Van Meeteren placed 23rd in the 500 free (538.46) and Malvern Senior Randi Reed placed 21st in the 100 Butterfly (104.11). As a team, LC placed 16th with 49 points. "You want to end with your best time of the year at the state meet and we did that in most of our events, " said Coach Schomburg. "I was really happy about that."
